Folded Wooden Chess Board — WVN43 vs PVC folding boards
Folded boards are not all the same. The difference shows up after months of use, not on day one.
A PVC folding board starts light and cheap, but the fold is its weak point: the crease line cracks and peels with repeated folding, the thin board curls at the edges and moves on the table, and the printed surface wears where it folds most.
WVN43 is built the other way. It is a rigid wooden board — 17", 1 3/4" squares, folded style, 1-year warranty — that opens flat and stays flat. The fold is made to open and close again and again without cracking at the seam, and the sealed wooden surface wipes clean when drinks spill, instead of soaking in or peeling at the fold.
That is the point of our newest board: better waterproofing and better durability than a PVC folding board, in the same folded format clubs, schools and shops already use.
Yesterday's batch was packed on pallets, strapped cartons ready to ship. We make it in our Ningbo factory, making tournament chess equipment since 2002, with every board the same, so reorders match the first order.
For clubs, schools and distributors who want a folding board that still looks and plays like new after a season of use.
